How It Works

The Senior Paralegal Course is a non-NQF Provider Programme, which is ideal for people already working in an environment where legal skills are advantageous or who want to enter the legal field and want to achieve a broad legal background.

All six of our core courses are on offer to students who want to gain legal knowledge in all these legal subjects. The courses are:

  • Civil Litigation
  • Wills & Estates
  • Business Law
  • Debt Collecting
  • Criminal Law & Procedure
  • Property Law & Conveyancing

Each course is lectured on eight evenings, once a week, from 18h00 to 20h30 at our venue.

Two weeks after the last lecture the examination will be written. The South African School of Paralegal Studies Short Course non-NQF completion certificates are handed to students who pass the individual subjects, The South African School of Paralegal Studies Senior Paralegal Course non-NQF completion certificate is handed to those who pass all six subjects (50% each except Business Law, where a 40% pass rate is required).

Re-writing is possible; conditions apply.

The South African School of Paralegal Studies Senior Paralegal Course non-NQF completion certificate reflects a record of all six short courses successfully completed.

The entry requirement is a South African Matric or tertiary level learning through life experience for persons 23 years or older.

Annual Schedule

SASPS has structured its courses and examinations as follows:

  • Each of the six courses is offered at least once a year, whereby SASPS and each Franchise Operation might offer courses more often.
