SASPS offers students four categories of Distance Learning:
Revision Lecture + Examination (both at one of the venues)
This should be the standard choice. The student gets taken through one of the previous examination papers by the lecturer of the respective course and has the opportunity to ask questions. Sitting for the examination means that – if successful – the student can prove that he has undergone a test on his knowledge in an examination.
No Revision Lecture, but Examination (at one of the venues)
The student has the choice to omit the revision lecture, but takes advantage of the opportunity to sit for an examination for the reasons mentioned above. SASPS recommends attending revision lectures as this is a vital building block in the understanding of the subject and in preparation for the examination
Revision Lecture + Assignment (revision lecture at one of the venues)
The student has the choice to go for a test of his knowledge by an assignment instead of an examination.
No Revision Lecture, but Assignment
This choice should only be made by students who live or work some distance away from a venue or with time constraints with regard to the dates for revision lecture and examination.
