The South African School of Paralegal Studies (SASPS)

was established 1992. SASPS is owned by German attorney Dr. Günter Pabst, who made it the Leading Private Training Institution for paralegals and legal support staff in South Africa.

SASPS has ever since been specializing
in Six Legal Subjects which can be regarded as the most important ones for practical use in law firms, at government departments, parastatals and in the business world.

SASPS’ Course Notes
have been developed and are up-dated by specialized legal practitioners.

SASPS has its headquarters
in Rondebosch, the “Intellectual Suburb” of Cape Town, with the best private schools and home of the University of Cape Town (UCT). The classes are offered in a secure venue conveniently situated next to the Rondebosch Metro Railway station.

SASPS has two sister entities:

  • The South African Institute of Legal Training (SAILT)
       specialising in corporate training
  • The Junior Paralegal College of South Africa (JPCSA)
focussing on practical legal training of school leavers.

SASPS has established a franchise system
throughout South Africa with venues in:

  • Gauteng
       Johannesburg + Pretoria
  • KwaZulu-Natal
       Durban + Pietermaritzburg
  • Mpumalanga/Limpopo
       Whiteriver + Witbank
  • Eastern Cape
       Port Elizabeth
  • Free State
       Bloenmfontein
  • North West
       Carltonville.

SASPS is offering its courses
in Rondebosch and, through its franchise operations, at most of their venues by way of Face-to-Face Learning in evening classes and – at selected venues – also during the day.

SASPS has developed a unique system of Distance Learning,
for which the slogan “You’ll never study alone” can be applied. Students receive tutorial support and have the opportunity to attend revision lectures and to sit for examinations at the above venues.

SASPS has obtained the approval
of the Safety and Security Sector Education and Training Authority (SASSETA) for its short courses and has been given the Accreditation as training provider for the National Certificate: Paralegal Practise Learnership, registered with the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA).
